We have reviewed the Digital Leadership Programme and endorse it as providing the specific digital leadership skills and experience needed in our industry.
The Digital Leadership Programme syllabus and content have been built based on industry research into the skills that are required in industry now, and what is predicted for the future.
The syllabus is constantly updated so that it stays in-line with the fast changing business and technology environment. The syllabus is reviewed and approved by the Jersey Skills Partnership, a body that includes Jersey Government Education Department, Industry and Digital Jersey. It is also aligned with the standards of leading industry bodies including the Chartered Management Institute, Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
As a Jersey grown digital business we’re always looking for digital skills. We employ over 100 people in digital roles. From our Jersey office, we see the Digital Leadership Programme as a step change in digital skills locally and look forward to welcoming the first graduate soon.
Pinpoint is a local business that we’re growing globally. The level of talent we are looking for unfortunately isn’t currently being raised on island, the Digital Leadership Programme is the first of its kind for Jersey and will be instrumental in fulfilling recruitment needs locally.
The idea of inspiring and guiding an influx of talented people from different backgrounds to take on board positions is the heart of what Board Apprentice does.
From the Digital Leadership Programme will come a whole new cohort of leaders who are digitally informed and aware, and will widen the pool of individuals who could one day sit on the board of a company. This is a huge step forward for Jersey as it will help to raise ‘home grown’ talent that could go on to break the traditional board member mould and bring new knowledge, insight and diversity to the table.
My ultimate goal in my work and personal life is return on investment. Investment is not just monetary though, it’s about putting something in to get something greater out, and this is how I see the Digital Leadership Programme. I see the programme as a massive opportunity for both students and industry. Students will be able to study on island for industry relevant skills where employment opportunities are ever growing.
So many young talented individuals leave the island to study digital courses and end up staying once they find work, the Digital Leadership Programme will be a game changer for students and creative businesses alike.
Having a whole new group of students in the digital industry on our doorstep, we can collaborate, learn from and even one day look to recruit is a whole new level of awesome.
The DLP is at the forefront of an industry that is growing at an incredible pace. Having worked and built my business across digital platforms for over eight years, these are some of the most exciting and resourceful diplomas I have seen. To be able to offer theory, practical training and access to leading industry experts means these are unrivalled and going to give students such a huge head start in carving a career. Something I, and many others would have hugely benefited from when starting up. What is being offering is, in my eyes, pioneering and the most relevant form of education and qualification I’ve seen in a long time.
What excites me about the DLP, is that students will not only learn how to create first-class digital content and services, but also how to effectively grow a business around it. The digital sector is increasingly competitive, but there are amazing opportunities to thrive and become an entrepreneur or to grow existing companies. Whether it’s project management, cybersecurity, data analysis or digital marketing, to be a digital entrepreneur, you’ll need knowledge of these areas, and very few courses currently offer this. The industry relevance of modules being taught are crucial and differentiate this course from the typical offerings that tend to focus too much on just the technical aspects of the digital industry.
